Dreams do come true in Dragon Wings!

Dragon Wings, a historical fiction novel by Laurence Yep, shows the difficulty in achieving dreams. A young boy named Moon Shadow tries to help his dad, Windrider, in making his dreams come true. Yet, many things get in the way such as thieves and the 1906 San Francisco earthquake. The theme here is importance of family. Kids 9 and up would enjoy this book.

This would be recommended. This book has a great plot. Each chapter has something that excites the reader, such as a story. This also shows how life was for a T’ang man in San Francisco. The only weak point was that little kids could get confused constantly on events like arguments

Dragon Wings is great towards ages 9 and older. It shows how important family is. It also has an event used in many great novels: when dreams come true. It then tells kids a important lesson in life: to never give up. This novel is greatly recommended.
